After an amazing time training and running the Bath Half Marathon a few weeks ago with a fellow client, raising over £850 for the amazing Charity Tree Aid. I wanted some fun in the sun and decided to go away to the Algarve, in Portugal for a break to find activities, me and my boyfriend could try…
We found adventures, fitness fun & some amazing healthy fish restaurants that tasted divine in one of the most relaxed holiday locations I have ever had. Portugal sure is Tranquilo! (Chilled in Portuguese). We were lucky to stay at the Santa Eulalia hotel which overlooked the stunning coastline of the Algarve
The hotel had some cool outdoor tennis courts, where we played ‘Amateur’ tennis, so much fun! I loved using the hotel gym & attending some core strength Pilates classes. This gave me such a sore stomach the day after, wow I was meant to be chilling this holiday! Unfortunately I didn’t do any surfing or paddle boarding as the sea was a bit too cold for me in March but this is a must in the summer, yes I know I am a wimp!
The beaches we found had the most amazing sandstone rock formations, creating some beautiful coastline. Dare I say the ‘Lagoa’ area of beaches was one of the most spectacular areas of unspoilt coastline we could find. (Keep it a secret!)
We came straight off walking the beaches to find some great fish restaurants, a fresh Sea bass meal for two, was just €38, it was yummy too!
Road tripping around the countryside in the west of the Algarve where its less developed was so much fun. We walked around castles and beautiful unspoilt lush countryside, Aljezur castle was simply stunning and well worth the visit.
Portugal comes highly recommended for its chilled vibes, healthy low priced seafood and drink, plus its sheer amount of fitness activities, with many running clubs & fitness camps located here.
We came back to the UK so chilled and slightly tanned from a sunny holiday in March! Such friendly good vibes in Portugal, go and explore for yourself…
